VOTD Psalms 86:5

Psa 86:5 For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.

  1. Why in the world do both sides of this debate spend so much time and energy arguing? Don’t you remember that you are both finite beings that have been afforded a limited view on infinite aspects of an infinite being? Maybe God is big enough to abundantly encompass both sides of the argument and more!! It would be nice to see both sides working harder at fulfilling your mutual roles within the great commission than splitting theological hairs and turning multitudes away. R.Q.

    1. Sir,

Thank you for your comment. I think that the primary testimony found in the Bible is about who God is and what God is like. This does not seem like a peripheral issue. The Old Testament theologian, Walter Bruggeman points out that “wrong speech” about God was the Old Testament equivalent of atheism. To the extent that we make theology about ourselves, and not about God, to that extent we deviate from the core testimony of the Bible. Does God care about what we say about Him? Do you care about what your children say about you?
